Here is some general information:
Courses - Jazz Band is a 5th Period class that students receive an additional credit for on their transcript. There are three sections (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced) offered based on your level of experience in playing Jazz.
Format (All Virtual) - Students will be divided into small groups (combos) by ability level and will learn about jazz style, history, improvisation, and much more through learning how to play jazz standards. Your group/combo will meet on Zoom for 1hr per week (either on Wed or Fri - TBD based on availability of students) with your instructor(s). You will also be expected to complete around a 1hr of work outside of class completing assignments and preparing for the next week's rehearsal. The minimum time commitment for each week would be around 2hrs (1 synchronous, 1 asynchronous)
Instructors - Mr. Mann (Band Director), Mr. Campos (pursuing Masters in Jazz Composition at NCCU).
